Matt Ricca is known for many things at LaneTerralever, including project management, his positive attitude and his sense of humor that he shares with any room he walks into. After joining the LaneTerralever team over two years ago, Matt has been an integral member of Account Services as the Project Manager for one of our largest accounts.
After graduating from Ohio University with degrees in Management Information Systems and Marketing, Matt was eager to venture out of his native-Ohio and see what Scottsdale, Arizona had to offer. While working in Phoenix’s Marketing Industry as an Email Marketing Specialist for four and a half years, Matt witnessed first hand the excellent work LaneTerralever delivered to its’ clients and he knew it was exactly where he wanted to be. And lucky for us, Matt was exactly who we wanted and came aboard to manage everything from email projects to microsites to full enterprise level websites.
One aspect of Project Management that Matt really enjoys is that he has the opportunity to surround himself with experts in many disciplines. Although a bit of a jack-of-all-trades himself, Matt says “having some of the smartest team members around definitely helps make my life a little easier.”
For those interested in becoming a Project Manager, Matt recommends brushing up on three key skills: Patience, Communication, and Organization. “I can’t tell you where my special aptitude for listening came from, perhaps a side-effect from growing up with 5 siblings, but I can tell you it’s one of the most important things I do – whether I’m listening to the needs of a client or listening to a team member describe an alternative approach to a problem.
When the workday is over and there are no more meetings to rush to and from, Matt can be found hanging out with friends or watching sports (especially his hometown teams from Cleveland, Ohio!) He also enjoys staying active by hitting the gym, hiking, and coaching the LaneTerrorizers (our company softball team).
Next time you are in the office, make sure to say hi to Matt!
